EU DC Manager


Currently our client is setting up their EU DC warehouse operation to serve the “EU5” market (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK). The central European DC will be based in the Netherlands. For this DC, the location and facilities needs to be selected, the operation needs to be setup, the administrative processes for the operations, staff and the financial management need to be developed, and the expected operation needs to be managed. 



Job description: 



1. Set up the new warehouse operation to achieve the defined business targets in terms of warehouse input and output capacity and efficiency, related logistics services performance standard, cost targets and the overall effectiveness of importation into EU from Asia and exportation to other EU5 countries from the Dutch DC.

2. Hire and manage the DC warehouse team, including the effective use of temporary staff agency for flexible seasonality labour capacity management.

3. Set up and manage the DC’s administrative processes to meet Dutch/EU personal, business, finance & tax requirements, in full compliance with the EU and Dutch company regulations and related regulatory requirements - business, labour, trade and taxes.

4. Set up and implement the required IT systems and processes under the guidance of the company’s Logistic and IT Departments based in China and Hong Kong, with the benefit of the US warehouse experience.

5. Manage the day to day operation that is to be fully integrated into the company’s global order fulfilment management, inventory management and logistic systems, and in close communication with the China/Hong Kong teams.

6. With our client's experience in warehouses of other locations, develop and implement the best practices in the EU operation.


Candidate Profile:


1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree qualification


2. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial leader mindset, a resilient hands-on approach and the ability to prioritize business objectives and tasks tactically and strategically


3. Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve pragmatically and dynamically


4. Ability to work and manage with data-driven SOPs


5. Ability to build up strong relations internally at different levels and externally with different organizations and partners


6. Ability to lead and manage a team locally and cooperate with other teams internationally across time zone of + and – 8 hours


7. Fluency in English, Mandarin, and at least basic Dutch (B1 level or higher) 


8. Experience in working with China co-workers a major advantage


9. EU work permit


10. Occasional international travelling as required by the business
